Cultivate a Hunger for God’s Word
Scripture: “Like newborn infants, long for the pure spiritual milk, that by it you may grow up into salvation.” — 1 Peter 2:2 A newborn does not need to be taught to cry for milk. Hunger is natural, urgent and necessary for growth. In the same way, spiritual growth begins with a sincere desire for God’s Word. The Word is not simply something to consume; it is nourishment that should lead to maturity. A believer who reads Scripture without growing in faith, character and obedience has missed its purpose. If your desire for Scripture has become weak, this is an invitation to seek God again. Ask Him to restore your hunger for His Word and help you grow into the fullness of salvation. Prayer: Lord, restore in me a deep hunger for Your Word. Nourish me, strengthen my faith and help me grow in You. Amen. Further reading: Hebrews 5:12–14; 1 Corinthians 3:1–2.
