Why the Original Name YEHOSHUA Matters
I believe the attempt to remove the name YEHOSHUA from our lexicon goes beyond translation. It is a deliberate effort to keep our generation from knowing the true Eli, not God. Imagine the name’s journey: YEHOSHUA became Yeshua in Hebrew, then Lesous in Greek, Lesus in Latin, before 14th-century English monks rendered it as Jesus. Just as Jack remains Jack in any language, Adeyemi stays Adeyemi, and Mohammed stays Mohammed, YEHOSHUA should remain YEHOSHUA. If you truly refer to YEHOSHUA, please stop calling Him Jesus. The names carry different meanings. Jesus lacks a clear origin and ties to a Roman deity, while YEHOSHUA never changes.
