Bishop Oyedepo’s Bold Challenge to Kidnappers: “Give Them My Number”
Bishop David Oyedepo shared dramatic testimonies during a recent service about two abduction incidents linked to his church. He recounted instructing church leaders to hand his phone number to kidnappers so they would know he would hold them accountable if his people were not released within 24 hours. In one case, he warned them that failure to comply would mean “you are dead,” and the pastor was freed soon after. In another account, one of his daughters was taken. She reportedly told her captors that her father had already declared her release time at 7 am. The kidnappers released her without hearing from him directly. He used these stories to encourage believers not to live in fear, urging Christians to stand against oppression because they are “raised far above the devil.”
