Arokodare Scores and Assists as Ajax Beat Sion 4-2 in Conference League Playoff

Tolu Arokodare scored his first goal for Ajax and provided an assist in their 4-2 away win over Swiss side Sion in the first leg of their UEFA Europa Conference League playoff. The Nigerian striker came off the bench with 18 minutes left, replacing Marcos Leonardo. He struck Ajax’s third goal in the 74th minute before setting up Davy Klaassen for the visitors’ fourth three minutes from time. Ajax will host Sion in the return leg at the Johan Cruyff Arena next Tuesday. The aggregate winner will qualify for the league phase of the 2026/27 UEFA Europa Conference League.
