Sweden 2027: How Nigerian 2:2 Graduates Can Compete for the SI Scholarship
A Second-Class Lower degree does not automatically rule a Nigerian applicant out of Sweden’s SI Scholarship for Global Professionals. University admission and scholarship selection are separate processes. Your degree and course prerequisites determine admission, while verified work experience, leadership record and programme choice are central to the scholarship application. Applicants need at least 3,000 documented work hours before the February 2027 scholarship deadline. Experience may come from employment, freelance work or a registered business, subject to the scholarship rules. Work and leadership documents must follow the official templates, as generic reference letters may be rejected. HND holders should check eligibility carefully. An HND alone may not meet Sweden’s general master’s admission requirements, so a recognised top-up degree may be necessary. Applicants should also rank SI-eligible master’s programmes carefully, since admission to a higher-ranked non-eligible course can affect scholarship options. The scholarship covers tuition, a monthly living allowance, travel support and insurance for the student. It does not fund dependants. Nigerian applicants with a recognised four-year bachelor’s degree may meet the English requirement without IELTS, but they should confirm their individual eligibility and submit transcripts through the required institutional verification process.
