Footballer Dies as Trailer Allegedly Hits Team’s Car on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway

A footballer has died after a trailer allegedly rammed into a Mercedes-Benz carrying him and teammates to a match on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway. The crash occurred on Monday near Magboro in Ogun State. The impact reportedly forced the car into a bus. Other occupants of both vehicles survived. Officials from the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency and the police responded to the scene. The trailer driver was said to have fled, while investigations continue. The footballer’s identity had not been released at the time of the report.
