Two Workers Rescued Alive From Nepal Hydropower Tunnel Nine Days After Floods

Rescuers in Nepal have pulled two workers alive from the Trishuli 3A hydropower tunnel, nine days after devastating floods struck the area on August 26. The men, a mechanical foreman and a mechanical supervisor, were found covered in mud but in stable condition. They were flown to a hospital in Kathmandu after the rescue operation. Officials say many workers are still missing, including about 115 believed to be trapped in the main tunnel. The floods, reportedly linked to a glacier collapse, have killed more than 1,200 people in Nepal, while thousands remain unaccounted for.
