CAF Completes Inspection of Abuja and Lagos Venues for 2026 Awards, General Assembly

A five-member Confederation of African Football (CAF) delegation has completed a two-day inspection of venues proposed by Nigeria for the 48th CAF Ordinary General Assembly and the 2026 CAF Awards. The officials assessed facilities in Abuja, including Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Transcorp Hilton Hotel and the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre. The conference centre is proposed to host the CAF General Assembly. In Lagos, the delegation also visited Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Eko Hotel and Suites, and the Wole Soyinka Centre for Culture and Creative Arts. The renovated former FESTAC ’77 venue is proposed for the 2026 CAF Awards. CAF said the venues must provide a secure, seamless and memorable experience for delegates and guests.
