Atiku Demands Tinubu Apologise to Cardinal Onaiyekan, Catholic Church

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has criticised President Bola Tinubu’s administration, accusing it of intolerance of dissent and of using statistics to mask Nigerians’ economic hardship. Atiku also demanded an apology to Cardinal John Onaiyekan and the Catholic Church over the Presidency’s response to the cleric’s comments on the state of the country. He said the government should address concerns raised by Catholic bishops rather than attack or discredit religious leaders. Atiku described the Church as a longstanding moral voice that speaks for poor and vulnerable Nigerians regardless of the party in power.
