Glasgow 2026: Nigeria Open Men’s 3×3 Basketball Campaign With Win Over Cayman Islands
Team Nigeria made a strong start to its Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games campaign with a 21-17 win over Cayman Islands in the men’s 3×3 basketball opener. Esosa Okundaye and Ikechukwu Nwamu led the scoring for Nigeria with six points each. Nigeria’s next test in the event will be against Australia at 5:25pm Nigerian time. In the swimming event, Clinton Opute also began Nigeria’s individual campaign but finished sixth in his heat of the men’s 200m individual medley in 2:15.40, missing out on the next round.
