Residents of Sii Community Demand Intervention as Alleged Juju Charms Spark Panic
Residents of Sii Community in Khana LGA, Rivers State, are appealing to the state government to intervene after alleged juju charms were placed at strategic points in the town. According to former youth leader Barigbon Kenneth Wintor, several community leaders invoked charms against those demanding accountability. He says the rituals have led to unexplained deaths, illnesses among women and sporadic killings, leaving many living in fear. A US-based indigene, Fortune Diginee, supports the plea and warns that dozens of young people are suffering mental breakdowns. He claims community chiefs admitted during a town hall meeting that they would use juju to silence critics. Diginee also highlights his own contributions through an NGO supporting local schools. He has funded a lab, library, town hall and monthly teacher salaries to improve education in Sii Community.
