Salisu Yusuf Explains Coton FC Exit Before Joining Shooting Stars
Shooting Stars technical adviser Salisu Yusuf says he left Benin Republic’s Coton FC by mutual agreement before returning to the Nigeria Premier Football League. Yusuf said he had a positive relationship with Coton FC’s management and that his exit was not caused by a dispute. The club’s owner reportedly chose to scale back its operations after the 2025/26 season, with the team shifting towards talent development. The former Super Eagles coach said other NPFL clubs showed interest in him, but he chose to take charge of Shooting Stars in Ibadan.
