Maikaba Promises Improved Flying Eagles Display Against Côte d’Ivoire

Flying Eagles coach Abdu Maikaba says Nigeria are determined to improve when they face hosts Côte d’Ivoire in the WAFU B U-20 Championship semi-final on Wednesday. The defending champions need a win in Yamoussoukro to reach the final and secure qualification for the 2027 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations. Nigeria finished second in Group B after a 2-0 loss to Burkina Faso. Maikaba admitted that defensive errors cost the team against Burkina Faso, with both goals coming from similar situations. He said the coaching crew has worked with the players on defending such balls ahead of the clash with an Ivorian side that won all three group matches without conceding.
