Ordinary People Review: Does Moses Inwang’s Star-Studded Thriller Deliver?
Moses Inwang’s eight-episode thriller, Ordinary People, follows the residents of Mirage Estate, where polished lifestyles conceal dangerous secrets. Set across Lagos, Bayelsa and Berlin, the series mixes betrayal, ambition, loyalty and survival in an upscale Nigerian community. The ensemble includes Ramsey Nouah, Adunni Ade, Chidi Mokeme, Michelle Dede, Lasisi Elenu, Eddy Watson, Shawn Faqua, Sharon Ooja, Jackie Appiah and others. Its intersecting stories feature undercover officers, a former Niger Delta figure, a troubled actress and an intrusive tech-savvy neighbour. Ordinary People is ambitious, glossy and packed with twists. However, its many subplots and heavy exposition can weaken the suspense. It is an entertaining, if occasionally overstuffed, Nollywood thriller for viewers who enjoy high-stakes drama and large ensemble casts.
