Georgia Man Charged After Fatal Shooting of Wife and Daughter Over Elder Care
Ralph Mincey, 63, allegedly shot his 37-year-old daughter during a dispute about caring for his elderly mother. He then reportedly used a 9mm handgun on his wife of nearly 40 years. Their daughter died at the scene, and his wife later died at Grady Memorial Hospital. A newly released 911 recording captures Mincey telling the dispatcher, “I just shot my daughter and my wife of 38 years … I lost it.” He blamed their screaming and accusations over his mother’s care. Police arrived at the Oxford home, about 40 miles from Atlanta, and took Mincey into custody without incident. He has been charged with murder and remains held without bail.
