Gunmen Abduct Ondo Monarch, Injure Wife in Owo LGA Attack

Suspected kidnappers stormed the Ode Oriya community in Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State around 8:30 p.m. on Saturday. Six armed men forced their way into the traditional ruler’s home and shot his wife before taking the 60-year-old monarch, Chief Adeniyi Adelana, into a nearby forest. The injured woman is now receiving treatment at a local hospital. Ondo State Police Command confirmed security operatives have launched a search-and-rescue operation. Tactical teams are combing forests, bush paths, and escape routes to secure the monarch’s release. Residents have been urged to remain calm and share any information that could assist in freeing the traditional ruler. Authorities promise to bring those responsible to justice and restore peace in the community.
