Veritas University Beat UNIABUJA 41–36 to Win Inaugural NBA REC Tournament

Veritas University defeated the University of Abuja 41–36 to win the inaugural NBA REC University Tournament at the University of Lagos Sports Centre. Eight teams competed in the two-day basketball event, including UNILAG, LASUED, UI, LASU, Lead City University and ABUAD. Veritas, ABUAD, UNIABUJA and UNILAG reached the semi-finals, while UNILAG beat ABUAD 57–50 to finish third. ABUAD’s Anthony Chioke was named tournament MVP. The event also featured fan giveaways, dance performances and music from Taves and Samad as NBA REC expanded its university basketball activities in Nigeria.
