Rangers End Winless Run Against Kwara United With 1-0 Awka Victory
Enugu Rangers ended a two-season winless run against Kwara United with a 1-0 win in their NPFL Matchday 12 clash at Awka City Stadium on Sunday. Victor Chimezie scored the only goal five minutes before half-time, finishing from a tight angle after a Pius Igwe assist. Rangers created several chances in the first half, while Kwara United threatened on a few occasions. The visitors thought they had equalised in the 78th minute through Alex Jerry, but the goal was ruled out for an infringement. Kwara’s late pressure could not prevent Rangers from taking all three points. Rangers coach Fidelis Ilechukwu called it a tough match and said his team had prepared carefully because they had not beaten Kwara United in the previous two seasons. He also thanked the travelling fans for their support.
