Serena Williams is set to return to the US Open after receiving a wild card for the 2026 mixed doubles event, where she will partner Carlos Alcaraz. The 44-year-old, who has won 23 Grand Slam singles titles, will make her first appearance at Flushing Meadows since 2022. Her recent return to competition included a first-round doubles loss alongside Venus Williams at the Cincinnati Open. It is not yet known whether Williams will also enter the women’s singles draw. One singles wild card remains available, but she has not confirmed any plans to compete in that event. The revamped mixed doubles competition will use best-of-three matches, four-game sets, no-ad scoring and a 10-point match tiebreak when needed.
