NSIB Probes Door Separation on Abuja-to-Lagos Challenger 604 Flight
The Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau has opened an investigation after a door separated from a Challenger 604 aircraft shortly after it departed Abuja for Lagos. The Triton-operated aircraft, registered T7-SEI, had six passengers and three crew members on board. The crew declared a mayday about three nautical miles into the flight after climbing to 3,500 feet. The aircraft returned to Abuja and landed safely on Runway 22. The detached door has been recovered and secured as investigators work to determine the cause of the incident.
