UK Student Visa Reportedly Rejected After Applicant Couldn’t Name Campus Trees
The vice-chancellor of the University of the West of Scotland says an international student’s visa application was rejected after the applicant could not state how many trees were on the campus. A report published on Monday says a caseworker expected the applicant to know because the university’s marketing materials featured its greenery. The report also describes other unusual reasons applicants were reportedly refused, including answers about Canada’s weather, a university’s founding year and nearby bus stops. In one case, an applicant’s answer about the founding year was reportedly correct. Do these reasons sound fair, or are they excessive? What do you think?
