Call for Balanced Reporting on Anambra’s Ocha Brigade Operations
I am calling on media organisations to verify complaints and hear all sides before reporting allegations involving Anambra’s Ocha Brigade and environmental enforcement officers. During my observations around the Ose and Ajasa areas, I noted roadside trading and sanitation concerns that require proper investigation. Residents have a right to question enforcement actions, while agencies also deserve an opportunity to explain their operations and procedures. Reports should distinguish allegations from verified facts. Journalists should visit affected locations, speak with residents and officials, examine available evidence, and give accused parties a fair right of reply. Responsible reporting can support both public accountability and a cleaner, healthier Anambra State.
