Integrity: Keeping Your Word Even When It Costs You

Daily devotional for 18 August 2026. Caleb was known as a brave warrior, but Judges 1 also shows that he was a man of integrity. He promised his daughter Achsah in marriage to whoever captured Kirjath Sepher. When Othniel succeeded, Caleb kept his word. His integrity was clear because fulfilling that promise cost him something precious. Courage should not stand alone. Believers are called to add virtue, knowledge, self-control, perseverance, godliness, kindness and love to their faith. Integrity is revealed when we keep our word even when nobody can force us to do so. Prayer: Father, give me grace to be courageous and trustworthy.
