Osayi-Samuel Wins Man of the Match as Birmingham Beat West Brom

Super Eagles defender Bright Osayi-Samuel was named Man of the Match after Birmingham City secured a 1-0 away win over West Bromwich Albion in the Championship. Osayi-Samuel played the full match at The Hawthorns, making six defensive contributions, three clearances and 11 recoveries. August Priske’s 41st-minute penalty proved decisive for Birmingham. The result was Birmingham’s fourth away victory of the campaign and moved them to seventh place on 14 points, six behind leaders Swansea City. Osayi-Samuel will hope the strong club display helps him respond after Nigeria’s recent 3-0 defeat to Guinea-Bissau in AFCON qualifying.
