Rivers Woman Demands Answers From Police Commissioner Over Brother’s Death
A woman confronted the Rivers State Commissioner of Police in Port Harcourt, demanding answers over the death of her brother, Anthony Obodo. The family alleges that police officers chased Obodo along the Agip–Ada-George Road and shot him while he was in his car. They also claim he was left injured by the roadside after officers allegedly took his jewellery and drove away with his vehicle. According to the family, a passer-by later took him to a clinic, where he was confirmed dead. They are calling for an independent investigation and accountability for any officers found responsible. The police allegations have not been independently verified.
