Boboye Targets Bendel Insurance’s Third NPFL Title Despite Defensive Concerns
Bendel Insurance coach Kennedy Boboye says his side must stop conceding goals regularly if they are to sustain their push for the 2026/27 NPFL title. Insurance ended Rivers United’s unbeaten run with a 2-1 win in Benin City. Freeman Wuchirwe opened the scoring, Chijioke Mbaoma equalised for Rivers United, and Jonathan James struck late to seal the derby victory. The Benin side have scored 16 goals but conceded 14 in 10 league matches. Boboye believes they can challenge for a third league crown, but says they must improve defensively and begin picking up points away from home, starting with their trip to Kwara United.
