How to Support Someone Through a Long Healing Journey
Galatians 6:1 calls believers to restore someone caught in sin gently. Supporting a person as they pursue sexual purity takes patience, whether you are a friend, mentor, accountability partner or spouse. Healing does not always happen on your timeline, and setbacks may be part of the journey. Patience does not mean excusing harm or accepting that nothing should change. It means offering support without demanding that someone perform progress to meet your expectations. Pressure can push people away from the very support they need. Gentle restoration means holding firm standards while showing compassion, speaking honestly while preserving the relationship, and trusting God with the timing of change. I acknowledge that sex is sacred and designed by God, and by His grace I will honour its sanctity. In Jesus’ name, amen.
