Did Those Raised at the End Suffer Hellfire Before Judgment?

No. Those who are given life at the end were not in the burning lake of fire while dead. They remained in death until the general resurrection and the White Throne judgment. Revelation 20:5 says, “The rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished.” This shows they were simply dead, awaiting their resurrection. Verses 12–13 explain that “the dead, small and great, stood before God…and the dead were judged… and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them.” They were held in the unseen realm until judgment. Only after judgment do the condemned enter the lake of fire, called the second death (Revelation 20:14–15). That burning lake follows the judgment, not before it.
