Dele-Bashiru Faces Three-Week Layoff After Lazio Injury
Super Eagles midfielder Fisayo Dele-Bashiru is expected to be out for 15 to 20 days after suffering a first-degree flexor strain in Lazio’s Serie A match against Bologna on August 24. The 25-year-old was substituted in the 54th minute and could miss Lazio’s league matches against Genoa, Udinese and AC Milan. He is projected to return for the September 19 fixture against Venezia. The setback could also affect his availability for Nigeria’s 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Madagascar and Guinea-Bissau next month.
