Edo Queens Ask CAF to Cancel WAFU-B Final Loss to Ampem Darkoa
Edo Queens have petitioned the Confederation of African Football to annul their 3-2 extra-time loss to Ghana’s Ampem Darkoa Ladies in the WAFU-B Women’s Champions League final. The Nigerian champions alleged irregularities over the venue change, match arrangements and player eligibility. They also asked CAF to delay confirming the regional qualification slot for the 2026 CAF Women’s Champions League until the complaint is resolved. Edo Queens had initially won the September final on penalties after a 2-2 draw. CAF later ruled that the shoot-out should not count and ordered the match to resume from extra time. Ampem Darkoa then scored early in extra time to win the rescheduled conclusion 3-2.
