Inter-Community Land Disputes Reported Across Anambra, Ebonyi and Enugu
Land disputes have contributed to recurring tensions and violent clashes in several communities across the South-East. The cases listed here are concentrated in Anambra, Ebonyi and Enugu states, with some involving neighbouring communities in Benue, Cross River and Kogi states. In Anambra, the list includes disputes involving Aguleri, Umueri, Umuoba Anam, Ogbunka, Owerre-Ezukala, Ogbunike, Ogidi, Omor, Anaku, Nando and Olu. It also includes Aguleri-Otu and Ibaji in Kogi State. The Ebonyi cases include disputes involving Ezza, Oshiri, Effium, Amasiri, Oso-Edda, Ishinkwo, Ikwo, Izzi, Ngbo, Agila in Benue State, Ukelle and Adadama in Cross River State. Enugu cases listed include Anekeode and Obangene, Igga and Ojjor, Ikem and Neke, Aku and Ikolo, Oruku and Umuode, among others. The list states that no similarly known lethal inter-community land disputes were identified in Abia and Imo states.
