Nigerian comedian Real Warri Pikin has spoken about the different standards often applied to men and women who are assertive. She said a man who stands firm may be described as strong, resilient or a leader, while a woman who does the same is often labelled mean, aggressive, difficult or bossy. According to her, women are frequently expected to be soft, agreeable and accommodating. She said setting boundaries or saying no can quickly be interpreted as having an attitude, amid the controversy surrounding her show.
