WhatsApp to Require iOS 15.5: iPhone 6s, 7 and First-Gen SE Users Should Update
WhatsApp will raise its minimum iPhone software requirement to iOS 15.5 on November 30, 2026. Users with older devices should check that their phones are updated before the deadline. The affected models are the iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, first-generation iPhone SE, iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. These phones can run compatible iOS 15 versions, so most owners may only need to install the latest available software update. To check, go to Settings, select General, then Software Update. Installing the latest compatible version should allow eligible devices to keep using WhatsApp.
