Former Super Eagles midfielder Sani Kaita says Nigeria must turn the disappointment of missing the 2026 FIFA World Cup into motivation for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations campaign. Nigeria begin their qualifying campaign against Madagascar in Uyo on September 25 before travelling to face Guinea-Bissau four days later. Tanzania are also in the group. Kaita believes the Super Eagles have the quality to qualify comfortably, but says a three-time African champion should be focused on competing for the AFCON title rather than merely reaching the tournament.
