Russia Would Struggle Against Full-Strength Super Eagles, Says Bubnov
Russian football analyst Aleksandr Bubnov believes Russia would struggle to beat Nigeria if the Super Eagles arrive with their strongest squad for their October 6 friendly at the Nizhny Novgorod Stadium. Nigeria may be without several players due to injury concerns. Victor Osimhen and Zaidu Sanusi are doubtful, while Fisayo Dele-Bashiru and Tochukwu Nnadi are also recovering from injuries. Bubnov said Russia would not win if Nigeria field their main lineup. The two countries last met in Moscow in June 2025, when Tolu Arokodare scored to earn the Super Eagles a 1-1 draw after Semi Ajayi’s own goal gave Russia the lead.
