How a Fake Crypto Platform Wiped Out My Savings and Left Me Borrowing

How a Fake Crypto Platform Wiped Out My Savings and Left Me Borrowing

I joined a WhatsApp group where people were sharing screenshots of crypto withdrawals and claiming they were earning guaranteed returns. I started with a small amount and received a quick “profit,” which made the platform seem legitimate. I invested more money, including part of my savings and a loan from a colleague. Soon, withdrawals were delayed. The platform blamed network congestion, then demanded a verification fee before releasing my funds. After that, the admin disappeared and the group went silent. For two months, I struggled to cover basic expenses and avoided calls from the colleague I borrowed from. The painful part was realising that the warning signs were obvious: guaranteed returns, pressure to top up, withdrawal delays, and extra fees to unlock an account. Please be careful with any investment platform that promises easy profits. If you have been through something similar or spotted a scam before losing money, share your experience. It could save someone from sending one last top-up.
