Three CRIN Staff Abducted While Inspecting Crops in Ibadan
Police in Oyo State have confirmed the abduction of three staff members of the Cocoa Research Institute of Nigeria (CRIN) in Ibadan. The workers were reportedly taken on October 9 while inspecting crops on a farm within the institute's premises. The police said rescue operations and a manhunt for the kidnappers began after the incident was reported. Residents with useful information have been asked to contact the nearest police station or security authorities. The incident follows earlier abductions linked to the institute. Four cocoa farmers were reportedly taken from CRIN's nursery area in March, while two staff members were abducted after armed men invaded the premises in May.
