Awka North Trains Primary School Teachers on Modern, Learner-Centred Teaching
Awka North Local Government Area has held a capacity-building workshop for primary school teachers, focused on modern pedagogy, classroom management and improved learning outcomes. Facilitators urged teachers to adopt learner-centred, inclusive and activity-based methods. They also highlighted the need to avoid labelling children based on early behavioural challenges, noting that behaviour can be shaped by family, environment, peers and classroom conditions. The training also covered the use of digital tools in teaching, with emphasis on purpose, preparation, participation, personalization and child protection. Participants took part in an interactive question-and-answer session during the workshop.
