Ugandan Man Accused of 38 Killings Arrested After Years of Escaping Custody
Ugandan security forces have arrested Moses Mujurizi, who is accused of involvement in 38 killings across Masaka, Ibanda and Kazo districts between 2010 and 2025. Uganda’s Chief of Defence Forces announced the arrest on October 26, saying the suspect had repeatedly escaped custody in the past. The allegations, including claims of cannibalism, have not yet been proven in court. Police are reviewing older murder files to determine whether the suspect is connected to other unresolved cases. A separate murder and human-trafficking case involving a suspect reported under similar names is already before a magistrate, but investigators have not publicly confirmed that every case concerns the same person. Any guilt and punishment must be determined through the judicial process.
