AAUA Students Block Roads as ASUU, NASU and Other Union Strikes Continue
Students of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko, protested on Thursday over ongoing industrial action by academic and non-academic unions that has disrupted academic activities. The students blocked the university’s main gate and nearby roads, affecting traffic around the campus. They demanded an urgent resolution of disputes between the Ondo State Government, the university management and the unions. The Students’ Union Government said students had been out of class for 68 days, leaving many unsure of their academic plans. Pending graduates are particularly worried as their examinations and graduation timelines remain uncertain. ASUU had earlier declared an indefinite strike over alleged non-implementation of agreements, while SSANU, NASU and NAAT also began a strike over outstanding demands.
