Sunday Igboho Steps In as Security Operatives Attempt to Arrest Tani Olohun in Ibadan
Yoruba Nation activist Sunday Igboho intervened after security operatives reportedly attempted to arrest Isese advocate Abdulazeez Adegbola, popularly known as Tani Olohun, in Ibadan, Oyo State, on Tuesday, 25 August 2026. Videos shared from the scene showed men said to be police officers trying to take Tani Olohun away as residents questioned their identity and why they were allegedly operating in civilian clothing. The circumstances and legal basis for the attempted arrest were not immediately clear. Tani Olohun’s family reportedly contacted Igboho, who later arrived with supporters and spoke by phone with a senior official. He was seen handing the phone to one of the officers after the caller requested to speak with the security personnel. The intervention appeared to calm the immediate confrontation. Tani Olohun is known for promoting Isese and Yoruba traditional religious practices.
