Los Angeles Judge Orders D4vd to Stand Trial on Murder and Child-Abuse Charges

A Los Angeles judge has ruled that singer D4vd, identified in court as David Burke, must stand trial on charges including murder, continuous sexual abuse of a child and unlawful mutilation of human remains. He has pleaded not guilty and remains in custody without bail. Prosecutors allege that 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez was killed after threatening to expose an alleged relationship with Burke. They told the court that she travelled to his Hollywood home in April 2025 and that investigators later recovered evidence they say links him to her death and the disposal of her remains. Burke’s lawyers argued that the evidence does not establish an intent to kill and challenged aspects of the medical and digital evidence. The allegations have not been proven in court, and prosecutors must prove every charge beyond a reasonable doubt at trial. He is due to be arraigned on August 31.
