NAFDAC Seizes ₦200m Worth of Suspected Counterfeit Drink Packaging in Aba
NAFDAC says it has seized suspected counterfeit packaging materials valued at more than ₦200 million during a raid on five shops at Old Court Road Market in Aba, Abia State. The agency said the materials included labels, corks, packs and outer cartons bearing the names of alcoholic beverage brands and other consumer products. The raid followed intelligence that the shops were allegedly producing and supplying the packaging. NAFDAC said its operatives faced threats and resistance from some traders while removing the items. The shop owners were absent, and the premises have been sealed pending further investigation and identification of those responsible.
