Knowledge, education, experience and Bible study are valuable. They help us understand life, avoid mistakes and learn from others. However, knowledge alone does not guarantee wise choices. A person may understand Scripture yet refuse to obey it, know financial principles yet spend irresponsibly, or recognise the harm of anger and gossip yet continue in both. Proverbs 4:7 teaches that wisdom and understanding are essential. Knowledge provides information, but wisdom guides us to apply that information with self-control, good judgement and obedience to God.
