Matawalle Promises Stronger Operations After Bandit Attack in Kano
Minister of State for Defence Bello Matawalle says the Federal Government is stepping up efforts to tackle insecurity after a bandit attack on Chiroma village in Garun Mallam LGA of Kano State. During a condolence and assessment visit, he said a joint operation led by troops of the 3 Brigade rescued several kidnapped victims around Yan-Kifi Bridge and Marabar Kwari. He praised the personnel involved and promised more vehicles, weapons and operational support for Kano. Matawalle said a proposed five-year defence and security plan would support a longer-term response to threats nationwide. He also urged residents to share timely and credible intelligence with security agencies, while Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf pledged continued cooperation with the Federal Government.
