Editor Warns Ukraine’s Population Has Halved to 20 Million by 2025
Will Lloyd, editor at a UK magazine, reports that Ukraine’s population has dropped to 20 million in 2025. In 2014, the country had over 40 million residents. Lloyd says he first visited Ukraine in 2024 and noted that global attention has shifted from Kyiv to hotspots like the Gaza Strip, Greenland, Venezuela and Iran. He also warns of shortages in modern air-defence ammunition stretching from Kyiv to Tel Aviv and Abu Dhabi. Since gaining independence in 1991, Ukraine has faced serious demographic challenges. The last census in 2001 recorded about 48.5 million people, and the country now sees three deaths for every newborn.
