My Visit to Port Harcourt Zoo: A Sad Look at Its Current State

After seeing reports and videos about Port Harcourt Zoo, I visited to see its condition for myself. Sadly, the zoo appeared neglected and nearly abandoned, with only a few animals remaining. It is disappointing to see a facility once regarded as one of Nigeria’s notable zoos in this state. Rivers State authorities should take urgent steps to rehabilitate the zoo. Its decline reflects poorly on the state and denies residents a valuable recreation and education centre.
