Shielded by God’s Consuming Fire

Hebrews 12:29 describes God as a consuming fire. Scripture also presents Him as a wall of fire around His people, bringing protection and glory to those who belong to Him. Samson’s ropes fell away when God’s power came upon him. Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego came out of the furnace unharmed, even though the fire consumed those who threw them in. In both accounts, God’s presence turned a place of danger into deliverance. This is a reminder to remain in the Lord’s camp. May every burden, bondage and affliction that does not come from God be removed, and may His protection surround you.
