Junior D’Tigress Reach U-18 AfroBasket Quarterfinals After 70-40 Win Over Senegal

Nigeria’s Junior D’Tigress have qualified for the quarterfinals of the FIBA U-18 Women’s AfroBasket Championship in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire. The team sealed second place in Group C with a dominant 70-40 win over Senegal. They had earlier beaten Tunisia 54-50 before losing 75-74 to Cameroon after overtime. The National Sports Commission congratulated the players and urged them on ahead of the knockout rounds. Nigeria is still in contention for the continental title and one of two places at the 2027 FIBA U19 Women’s Basketball World Cup in China, reserved for the finalists.
