IGP Disu Champions Stronger Global Police Partnership at UN Summit

IGP Disu Champions Stronger Global Police Partnership at UN Summit

Nigeria’s Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, attended the Fifth United Nations Chiefs of Police Summit in New York on 7–8 July 2026. He urged nations to deepen cooperation in policing to advance global peace, security and sustainable development. Disu highlighted how modern criminal networks exploit AI, encrypted communications and cyber platforms to cross borders. He noted that while technology brings powerful tools in AI, digital forensics and geospatial intelligence, public trust remains the foundation of effective policing. The IGP called for greater capacity building and equitable access to digital policing capabilities for all member states. Nigeria’s active participation underscores its commitment to global peacekeeping and collaborative efforts against transnational crime, terrorism and cyber threats.
